Does It Work?: Shed Pal

CORPUS CHRISTI - Anyone with a furry pet knows that shedding can be a major eyesore in your home or apartment, but one device promises to help keep that hair from piling up, it's the Shed Pal from TeleBrands.
The weird looking device says it can suck the loose fur right off your pet and keep it off your furniture.
My dog Blue is a shepherd-heeler mix who is a goofy bundle of energy that I love hanging around. What I don't love is all the fur he leaves behind.
These tumbling balls of fur find their way into every nook and cranny of my loft apartment and I often find myself reaching for a broom to clean it all up.
The 'As-Seen-On TV' product the Shed Pal guarantees to suck the fur right off your pooch and help keep it off your furniture.
The funky-looking device has the suction power of a small vacuum and a rotating "grabber" pad that pulls the loose fur off your family pet.
Right away I saw a major problem as it was so loud it scared away my pooch.
Finally after a little coaxing, Blue got more familiar with the Shed Pal.
After about 5 minutes of brushing I'm not very impressed. It seems to be pulling fur right out of his skin, rather than collecting the loose fur.
I can't just stop Blue from shedding all over my apartment, so I decided to see if the Shed Pal would pick up fur already on the couch and pillow.
That did not work at all.
My conclusion: the Shed Pal is really no "pal" to pet owners. In fact, the only use I found for it is scaring Blue off my couch when he's not supposed to be on there.
As far as collecting fur, I suggest sticking to a broom and dustpan.
