ROBSTOWN - A brushfire burned dangerously close to some nearby homes today. Firefighters said a man was mowing his yard this afternoon so his son could ride his dirt bike when a spark from the mower's blades started a brushfire.
The fire burned about an acre of land off County Road 67. The blaze came within 100 feet of other homes but firefighters managed to put it out in about 15 minutes. Nothing was ultimately damaged.
