CORPUS CHRISTI - If you own a car then you know that staring at that same dent in your hood day in and day out, can get pretty frustrating and there are tons of items on the market nowadays that promise to pop it right out! So I decided to put one of those to the test.
It's called the Bondo Dent Puller. The souped-up suction cup promises to remove any dent of any size. But I couldn't go punching dents in my Action 10 News vehicle... the boss wouldn't like that.
So I found this old junk car at my brother's house and readied it for battle against my dent puller.
Once dented, it was time to test my Bondo Dent Puller.
The dent in the car is just a little bit bigger than my hand. The instructions on the Bondo Dent Puller says you should push in real tight, close the clasp, and then give it a pull.
The dent was pulled out a little bit. Now if the first attempt does not work, give it another shot.. but even then the results are close, not perfect.
After all, once the dent is smaller the Bondo Dent Puller's effectiveness appears to decrease.
Add to that it seems like the angle of the dent also impacts how well the gadget works.
In the end, size really does matter when it comes to fixing dents with the Bondo Dent Puller. The smaller the dent, the less likely it is to be repaired using this item.
Leaving this junk car looking even worse than it did when I started.
