CORPUS CHRISTI- It was a real scorcher again today as temperatures reached 100 degrees again for the 4th time in the last 5 days. Here are the details of a very complicated forecast.

The tropical wave now in the S.W. Gulf is becoming better organized and the hurricane center currently has a plane in route. This system will likely become tropical depression #7 again or even a minimal tropical storm. This system could ruin our rainfall opportunity if it goes inland in Mexico or moves north into Louisiana early next week. It is too early to tell at this point exactly what will happen. In the meantime scattered thundershowers will develop over the weekend due to a weak but highly unusual cold front that will approach from the north. Sunday will be the wettest of the two days but neither day a washout.

If rich tropical moisture from the remnants of T.D. #7 (which could re-form again) will continue to increase across south Texas as the dry upper level high has now moved westward away from the area. Badly need rainfall will start slowly at first with only isolated showers tomorrow but will increase steadily Sunday thru Thursday of next week. The only way we miss out on rain (especially here in the city) is if the system develops into a tropical storm and the moisture gets pulled away from us into the center of circulation. Right now the weather headline is wetter weather ahead.

Tonight will be mainly clear and nearly calm after midnight with a low of 76.

Saturday noticeably less wind with more clouds and isolated thundershowers in and around variable sunshine expect a high 98 tomorrow.

Sunday expect variable cloudiness hot and humid with scattered thundershowers and a high of only 93.

Enjoy your weekend with plenty more rain expected next week as long as the tropical system to our southeast doesn't develop too much.
