CORPUS CHRISTI, TX - Seven people were sent to the hospital Sunday night, after a car and a truck wrecked into each other.

The accident happened at the intersection of Clarkwood and the Highway 44 Westbound access road. Police say the driver of the car may have ran the stop sign causing the accident.

Rescue crews had to cut a door of the truck off to rescue two people trapped inside.

In all there were three people in the car, and four in the truck and they all had to be taken to the hospital, some with broken bones.

Police say it's surprising no one was killed.

"It was probably one of the worst [accidents] I've seen so far where people walk away and go home," CCPD Lieutenant Edward longoria said.

Two people were in serious condition, however none of the injuries were life-threatening.

Were told drugs and alcohol did not appear to play a role in the crash.
