25 Year Sentence for Stabbings, Rape

CORPUS CHRISTI - A Robstown man is headed to prison for 25 years as part of a plea deal for aggravated assault and aggravated sexual assault.
In January 2011, Jacob Ornelas was arrested for stabbing his roommate, as well as stabbing and raping the roommate's girlfriend inside a home in the 600 block of Lopez.
Police say both victims were stabbed in the face and neck. The woman was stabbed 16 times.
The roommate was able to run across the street to a neighbor's house to seek help. Both victims survived the brutal attack.
Ornelas was arrested a few days later near Houston when he surrendered to Texas Rangers.
