2012 National Signing Day: Local Recap - 13 Area Standouts Sign

CORPUS CHRISTI - National Signing Day is the premier day for high school football players to sign their national letters of intent. Here in the Coastal Bend, 13 area kids made their choices, with one holdover expected to sign in the very near future.
Texas A&M-Kingsville made their presence known all day long inking 6 of the 13 signees, while McMurry University and Texas Southern also joined in the mix.
Below is a list of the local signees:
Rudy Alonzo ( King High School RB ) - Signed a full scholarship with Texas Southern
Paul Castillo ( Calallen DB ) - Signed with Texas A&M-Kingsville
Marcus Price ( Calallen RB ) - Signed with Texas A&M-Kingsville
Michael Wiser ( Calallen DL ) - Signed with Texas A&M-Kingsville
Jake Brearton ( Calallen OL ) - Signed with Texas A&M-Kingsville
Andres Alaniz ( Ben Bolt WR ) - Signed with Texas A&M-Kingsville
Charlie Thornton ( Moody OL ) - Signed with McMurry University
David McHugh ( Ingleside WR ) - Signed with McMurry University
Matt McHugh ( Ingleside WR ) - Signed with McMurry University
Raymond Garza ( King OL ) Signed with Texas A&M - Kingsville
Zach Anderson ( Odem QB ) Signed with the University of Mary Hardin Baylor
Issac Hinojosa ( Odem OT ) Signed with the University of Mary Hardin Baylor
Conner Shears ( Beeville TE ) Signed with Cisco College
*Bishop Offensive Lineman Scott Michalk is expected to sign with Texas A&M-Kingsville in the very near future.
**George West's Cayleb Holt has transferred to Texas A&M-Kingsville, and was selected as a walk-on last week**
