    Authorities Identify Woman Killed In Crash Friday

    CORPUS CHRISTI - Speed is being blamed for an accident that left a young woman dead Friday evening.

    Police say 23-year-old Tiffany Nicole Jaimes was killed instantly after slamming her 1996 2-door Acura into a telephone pole.

    Jaimes is a 2006 graduate of Carroll High School.

    Rockport Vacation Home Destroyed by Fire

    Gambling Raid In Driscoll

    DRISCOLL - Two people were arrested, and dozens of eight-liners confiscated, following a raid at a business in Driscoll last night by Nueces County Deputies.

    They began investigating more than a month ago, after getting complaints about illegal gambling.

    Woman Killed in Crash with Utility Pole

    CORPUS CHRISTI - Police are investigating a crash at 4125 Gollihar that killed a Hispanic woman in her 20's just after 5:00 p.m.

    Witnesses say the driver was speeding down Gollihar when the car hit the pole hard on the driver's side of the vehicle.

    Robstown Police Don't Arrest Man Who Stole Donation Jar

    But even when he was caught a short time later with the jar, police only cited him for criminal trespassing, then released him.

    CORPUS CHRISTI - The MDA Muscle Walk is a local walk held to pay tribute to and raise funds for children and adults served by the Muscular Dystrophy Association.

    Galloway Named 'Journalist in Residence' at Texas A&M Corpus Christi

    Packery Channel Bridge Repairs Begin

    CORPUS CHRISTI - Crews are now in the process of making repairs to the State Highway 361 bridge over Packery Channel. The span was damaged two months ago when a barge knocked off some chunks of concrete.

    The majority of the work is taking place underwater, but motorists need to be aware that one lane on the bridge will remain closed during the repair process.
