    Police are investigating the death of a woman at a North Beach motel. Police were called to the Sea Shell Inn Motel around 1:30 Sunday afternoon. Investigators said the body of a woman in her 50's or 60's was found in one of the rooms.

    Border Patrol Agents assigned to the Weslaco station disrupted a smuggling attempts, resulting in the arrest of five illegal aliens on Friday. According to U.S. custom and Border Patrol, agents responded to a call of a vehicle that was possibly being loaded with illegal aliens near the Santa Ana Wildlife Refuge.

    Classes at Tuloso Midway High School have been canceled for the remainder of the day due to a power outage. The outage is due to a blown transformer, a spokesperson for Tuloso-Midway ISD says. Buses will begin to transport students at this time. The school will reopen on a regular schedule for tomorrow.  Second and fourth periods will take semester exams tomorrow. Fifth and sixth periods will take exams on January 3.

    A tip from an Action 10 News viewer led to the arrest of a Wheel of Shame fugitive. The Corpus Christi Police Department has confirmed Martin Rocha has been arrested. He was on the Wheel of Shame but not a chosen one. Rocha was wanted on a motion to revoke probation for a prohibited substance in a correctional facility. Since it was Crime Stoppers tip that led to his arrest, that means someone is getting paid. Since the Wheel of Shame began, 231 fugitives have been busted.

    The Staples Street exit ramp on west bound South Padre Island Drive will be closed from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. Today.  The Texas Department of Transportation says the temporary closure is necessary to allow crews to repair pavement that was damaged by last week's rain and snow on the road in front of La Palmera Mall. TxDOT is asking that motorists use alternate routes. Delays should be expected if traveling in this area between 9 a.m. and 2 p.m.

    Nueces County Jail staff report 56-year-old Ricardo Gonzalez, who is currently employed as the Fire Chief for the Robstown Fire Department, has been released from jail. Jail records state Gonzalez was booked into the jail Sunday morning and was charged with driving while intoxicated.

    The Padre Island National Seashore is continuing to ask beach goers to be on the lookout for cold-stunned sea turtles. Dr. Donna Shaver, the head of sea turtle science and recovery at PINS, says after asking for the public's help in reporting turtle sightings, 214 green sea turtles have been found in Texas, most of them on local beaches.
