| Crystal is a South Texas native who was born in Corpus Christi and raised in the Coastal Bend. Crystal attended Texas A&M University where she studied engineering for three years before transferring to the University of Oklahoma to pursue her true calling, a career in journalism. Before leaving Texas A&M, Crystal set off to Europe where, aside from traveling, she studied with her fellow Aggie classmates in Castiglion Fiorentino, Italy. Her travels in Europe included traversing nine different countries, three of which she navigated alone. After spending two and a half years enrolled in the University of Oklahoma's exceptional journalism program, Crystal received her Bachelors degree of Science in Journalism in 2004.
Before joining the Action 10 News team, Crystal gained experience by interning and then working at the top-rated television station in Oklahoma City, KFOR-TV. Crystal has been recognized by both the Society of Professional Journalists for her investigative reporting and by the Oklahoma Association of Broadcasters for feature reporting. Aside from traveling, Crystal enjoys tennis, racquetball, reading a good book, and spending as much time as possible with her family. Crystal is married to another familiar face, Action 10's Chief Meteorologist, David Mazza. Crystal and David have two "precious" dogs, which they adore and spoil rotten.
